Harris Science Academy East London A Level Results soar again: An improvement of 2 grades in 2 years.
Year 13 students at Harris Science Academy East London are today celebrating another record year of outstanding A Level results. For the second year running, staff have helped students to improve A Level grades by a full grade in comparison to the previous year, with the progress made from GCSE likely to be the best in Newham and Tower Hamlets.
The Academy is proud to report:
- 37% of students securing grades to attend a Russell Group university, more than four times last year’s national average.
- 100% of students securing A*-B in history, philosophy and computer science.
- 100% of students securing A*-C in English Literature, 25% above last year’s national average.
- 88% of students securing A*-C in economics, 7% above last year’s national average.
- A pass rate of 100%, 3% above last year’s national average.
These results further support the findings from the Academy’s recent Ofsted inspection, which concluded that the quality of education at Harris Science Academy is ‘exceptional’.
Principal, Dan MacPherson, said: “These results are testament to staff and students’ dedication and hard work. At HSAEL, we are committed to supporting every child to become a leader in their chosen field and to the Academy becoming the best in the Borough. The outcomes secured by our Year 13 students will ensure they have every opportunity available to them in the future to make a positive change in the community. I could not be prouder of them.”
