Academy Performance

The release of school and college comparison data in October 2023 has confirmed Harris Science Academy’s place as one of the most improved academies in the UK. Thanks to support from the Harris Federation, the commitment of families and the hard work of Academy staff, in just one year there was an improvement in GCSE results by an average of more than half a grade. This is an exceptional achievement.

Nationally, this places Harris Science Academy 121st for improvement out of the nearly 3500 schools where comparisons can be made. This is in the top 3% of schools for improvement. In London, Harris Science Academy was the 17th most improved school in the city and the 4th most improved school in East London.

The Academy is moving quickly to provide every child with the education that will give them the knowledge and skills to become a leader in their chosen field and the current Year 11 and Year 13 are well placed to maintain and accelerate the pace of improvement. It is an exciting time to be part of Harris Science Academy East London. Please see Compare Schools Performance Service for latest information.

What our staff say about the Academy:

I enjoy the fact that the leadership staff (especially my Head of House) are very supportive and handle the majority of the behavioural issues so that the classroom culture can be kept to the highest of standards to support learning. I am very appreciative for how helpful and supportive my consultant is.
Lastly, I love the push for our students to feel empowered, supported, and capable of achieving their goals.

The students are phenomenal; the leaders have a clear vision and are working to ensure we are all ‘rowing together;’ the school is not afraid to make radical change to improve systems.

Amazing students, enthusiastic staff and a completely collaborative and supportive environment.

Love the team I work with, I love being challenged and developed in my role, good balance between fun and hard work.

The children are brilliant. SLT are positive and work really hard. Staff are very adaptable.
