Record Results with our largest ever number of Grade 9s

Harris Science Academy East London is celebrating record GCSE results, likely to be among the best in London.

A third of students got an average of a Grade 7, equivalent to an A, across all their subjects. In addition:

  • 71% of students secured a strong pass in both English and Maths, nearly one and a half times the national average for 2025;
  • 44% of all grades were 7+, with around 30% of all results grade 8 or 9;
  • The average grade achieved across all subjects was a 6, which is 1.5 grades above the national average.

The Academy secured the largest number of grade 9s in the Academy’s history, including:

  • Kyle, who joined us having studied abroad for his whole education, secured 10 grade 9s. He joins his sister, Leah, who secured A* A* A in her A Levels this year. Combined, they are the highest performing siblings to have attended the Academy.
  • Praisel, who joined us in Y10 having overcome challenges at her previous school, secured a full sweep of grade 9s in all her GCSEs.
  • Mo, who secured 7 Grade 9s.
  • Tahsin, who secured 6 Grade 9s
  • Isa, who secured 6 Grade 9s.
  • Eliza, who secured 6 Grade 9s.
  • Lily, who secured 5 Grade 9s.

Principal, Dan MacPherson, said:

These results are a wonderful reflection of our students and staff’s hard work over the last three years. We have always known that students at HSAEL are some of the brightest and best in the country, on track to be the leaders of the future. I am so pleased that their results today reflect this so clearly.”
