Imogen Krauze

I am a Teacher of Religious Education and Philosophy at HSAEL, teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have the privilege of teaching our students about the ‘big questions’ such as belief, ethics and society, encouraging them to think critically about the world around them and their place within it.

HSAEL is truly unique in its nature as a school. The school-wide culture fosters a strong sense of community and consistency for students, creating calm, purposeful classroom environments which are a pleasure to both teach and learn in. High expectations run deep through the foundations of the school, resulting in students who are inquisitive, engaged, opinionated and, most importantly, proud of their learning. Although the school is thoroughly academic, it is also characterised by its warmth. Students are consistently reminded that they are welcome, they matter and they make a difference. I particularly admire the range of additional opportunities available, from academic enrichment to character development and cultural experiences, as well as opportunities for reward and enjoyment.

As a new member of staff, what struck me most was the strength of the community here. The staff body exemplifies what a supportive, collective effort can achieve. Teachers value the school’s mission of growth, responsibility and ambition, and it is a privilege to work alongside such talented, hardworking and dedicated colleagues. I would highly recommend HSAEL to anyone looking for a school defined by high expectations, strong relationships and a genuine commitment to both academic and personal development.
