19 lucky students attended production of Guys & Dolls, with Mr Kelly and Mrs Mathieson. The highlight was seeing the students’ faces light up with joy watching the actors sing & dance. We hope to return to the theatre soon with even more future-theatre lovers. pic.twitter.com/rlk2fJASOJ

Unifrog

New careers and enterprise platform

UnifrogAll students have been granted access to Unifrog, a learning platform where students can explore possible career paths. Please see www.unifrog.org for further details. Unifrog resources will be used in tutor time at the academy, but we also encourage students and parents to access the resources on the Unifrog online platform independently.

Unifrog is used by a number of Harris academies for the following reasons:

  • It is a one-stop shop where students have the power to explore their own interests and career paths.
  • It has thousands of resources, tips and information relating to different career pathways, universities and apprenticeships.
  • It provides bespoke guidance for students who need assistance with writing their cv, personal statement or applications.
  • It allows students to record their interests and searches, so that they can look back at their interests over time.

We hope parents and students work together to use this platform and we will provide more guidance on how to use it effectively in tutor time.

The Complete Destinations Platform

All students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 now have access to this excellent website.

Unifrog brings into one place every undergraduate university course, apprenticeship, and college course in the UK, as well as other opportunities, such as School Leaver Programs, MOOCs and every college at Oxford and Cambridge. This makes it easy for students to compare and choose the best university courses, apprenticeships, or further education courses for them. They can also explore exciting opportunities further afield by looking at English taught undergraduate programs available in Europe and the USA.

Additionally, the platform helps students successfully apply for these opportunities by writing their personal statement, applications and CVs and guiding them through the process, allowing teachers to give live feedback.

Students access the tool for the first time using a sign-up code which is unique to their form group. They then login using their email address and password and they can do so from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. We would encourage you to use the platform with your child so you can support them through the process of deciding their next step.

Parent Login

We have also set up a parent login so that you can use Unifrog as if you were a student yourself, allowing you to truly support your child. The form sign-up code you need is: IVTSparents and you can sign up here: www.unifrog.org/code

For more information, go to www.unifrog.org or email  info@harrisscienceeastlondon.org.uk
